After Catching My Breath, Of Course, I Told Him ‘Yes’, Justin And Vanessa
Justin Lamar, who works as a plumber for his father at “Leo’s Sewer and Drain”, and Vanessa Ybarra, now Lamar, who is a Courtroom Clerk at Santa Barbara Superior Court, were married Dec 1, 2018.
They sat down with us and told us the story of his proposal. A few months before proposing, Justin told me he had been shopping at a few other jewelry stores, and when he came into George Thompson’s he said, “It only took me 2 minutes and I found just what I was looking for.” Together, with our salesperson, Terry, they picked one of the exclusive George Thompson's Collection and then substituting some of the white diamonds for black diamonds, they redesigned a new one-of-a-kind ring, which we specially fabricated at our factory in Thailand.
When the time came for Justin to propose to Vanessa, he wanted to surprise her in front of their close friends along with his and her close family, including each of their grandparents, at his father’s house. Arranging a meeting with her somewhere else, he intentionally tried to frustrate her by being late and then called her, asking her to come to his father’s house. On opening the door, was she surprised! She had to walk the gauntlet by everyone. He also had balloons and pictures of their special times together along the way. At the end of the line, she fondly told us, “Justin stood and told me how much he loved me and then got on his knee and proposed. I so astonished with everything, especially that he finally had asked me to get married that I went crazy started crying. After catching my breath, of course, I told him ‘Yes’.”
